Physics Study Groups for Physics 228

Do you feel that your test grades often do not reflect what you really know?
Do you feel rushed and pressured at exam time?
THEN PHYSICS STUDY GROUPS ARE FOR YOU!

Physics Study Groups (PSG) is a FREE program offered by the
university this semester. By joining a PSG you will be saving time
and be better prepared for your mid-term and final exams.

What:  PSGs offer an opportunity to meet weekly with a small group
of like-minded, serious students to summarize the week's material
and get any confusion cleared up. Each study group is assigned an
upperclass physics major who will collaborate with your professor
so that he can better assist the group in:
-getting organized
-understanding concepts
-getting better-prepared for high stakes midterms and final exams

When and Where: PSGs meet one time each week in the
afternoons/evenings for 80 minutes. PSGs are offered at the following times:
 M  8:10-9:30	ARC 328
 W 5:00-6:20	ARC 324
 W 8:10-9:30	ARC 326
 TH 6:40-8:00	ARC 309
 F 1:40-3:00	ARC 333
 Sun 8:25-9:45	ARC 326

Your professor views these study groups as valuable so Physics is
willing to give you one additional COURSE CREDIT for your serious
and consistent participation.  You will sign up for this as a
one-credit course, and receive a P/NC grade at the end of the
semester.  If you attend each session meeting, participate
meaningfully, you will pass.  If you miss more than two sessions,
or if you are disruptive to the group you will receive a NO CREDIT
grade. Joining a PSG means you are committing to your group that
you will be at all session meetings.

 -Do not sign up unless you are serious about following through.
  It will look bad on your transcript if you abandon the group.
 -If you are disruptive to the other students in the group you
  will be deregistered from the study group.
 -All sessions will be filled on a first come first served basis,
  once they are filled, there will be NO NEW SESSIONS ADDED
