Quenching Topological Systems: Localized, Critical and Extended States

Date and Time: Thursday, April 04, 2019, 01:30pm -
Location: Room 385

Speaker: Pedro D. Sacramento (CeFEMA, Instiuto Superior Technico, Lisbon PORTUGAL)

The effect of different types of global quenches in topological systems is considered such as the fate of Chern numbers, robustness of Majorana modes and generation of Majorana modes in Floquet systems. Also, the effect of time periodic quenches with spatially quasiperiodic potentials or deviations from time periodicity are considered, leading in the first case to ballistic, diffusive and localized regimes and in the latter case to thermalization.
