Title: Chiral topologically ordered insulating phases in arrays of interacting integer quantum Hall islands

Abstract:

In this talk, I will talk about network models consisting of a combination of integer quantum-Hall islands in the Coulomb blockade limit uniquely suited for realization of both Abelian and non-Abelian insulating topological phases.

The constructions are also capable of realizing various chiral spin liquid phases. Compared to previous works on chiral spin liquid phases, the models require a much simpler kind of interaction. In addition, I present a model with quantum-Hall islands interspersed among “spin chain islands”, where the necessary interaction emerges naturally and requires minimal (if any) fine tuning.
