Blakesley Burkhart has been selected for the 2022 Maria Goeppert Mayer Award of the American Physical Society. This award, which recognizes outstanding achievement by a woman physicist in the early years of her career, is given to only one individual annually.
The citation for Prof. Nurkhart's award will read: "For outstanding contributions to theoretical astrophysics, elucidating the physics of interstellar turbulence and its impact on star formation on multiple spatial scales."
Blakesley joins Alyson Brooks, who was the 2019 MGM Award recipient.
